I'm Ethan McCrary, and I lead a team of 15+ highly talented Quality Engineers at PNC Bank.

I attained my Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems with honors summa cum laude. My studies focused on Information Assurance and Security and Systems Development, but I often find myself doing more Web or Game Development than anything else. I currently work for PNC Bank as a Quality Assurance Lead in the digital identity space. You can find more about my work experience down below.

Quality Assurance Lead

I lead a team of 15+ QA professionals, fostering collaboration and aligning with project goals. I currently am leading the team in an effort to reach 100% API automation across 100+ different services within PNC's Digital Identity space. I also coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement QA processes and standards within an Agile model. I have enhanced QA processes, improving test coverage, defect rates, and Agile sprint efficiency. In my time as Quality Assurance Lead, I have led major testing efforts for applications utilized by millions of users, conducted end-to-end, regression, functional, and user acceptance testing across 100+ internal and external applications, and have created documentation for test summary reports (TSRs) and test strategy approaches (TSAs) for every major release. I also created and automated test cases using Selenium, Cucumber, and Karate in Java with IntelliJ enterprise and managed test results in Jira Xray for transparent QA metrics reporting.

I conducted end-to-end, regression, functional, and user acceptance testing accross 100+ internal and external applications, collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to address issues and drive continuous improvement, and conducted root cause analysis of defects and worked closely with developers to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products. I also utilized automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, and Karate to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency. I managed test results in Jira Xray for transparent QA metrics reporting and developed and executed comprehensive test plans and test cases to meet quality goals and project deadlines.

I was a quality assurance engineer in an agile work environment utilizing technologies such as Jira, Postman, and Karate to manage and test and automate the testing of the digital identity workspace and its APIs using the Scrum agile software development methodology. The digital identity workspace primarily included the testing of first- and second-factor authentication developmental work.


IT Specialist - Web Developer

First Presbyterian Church, Clarksville, TN

I managed, updated, and completely redesigned the website for First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, TN using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL on a 1&1 Web Host. I also handled social media, including streaming sermons and events on both YouTube and Facebook simultaneously. I studied web metrics using Google Analytics tools to identify the best possible approach for web services.


IT Specialist - Infrastructure and Security

I managed and troubleshot devices, such as printers, computers, sound boards, and streaming devices. I also provided technical support on an as needed basis for software, such as QuickBooks financial services, Dropbox Business, and more. I worked closely with the chairs of several committees to introduce new technologies, such as a cloud-phone system to the organization.

I managed 150+ machines across three computer labs on the campus. I worked closely with professors and the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to handle installation and imaging processes. I taught small classes of 5-10 students. The age groups varried, but most were between 12-16 years-old. I taught two classes, Introduction to Programming with Java and Computer Literacy. In the Java course, we covered everything from data types to animation with JavaFX. In the Computer Literacy course, we covered topics ranging from computer hardware to web development to computer security.
